The painters finished the base color of the house yesterday. It took three coats (!) to cover up the chocolate brown.
The cracks that were patched still show a little, but the house looks so new now! It's like a new pair of shoes.
Today they are doing all the while trim. The last step will be replacing the screen doors and repainting the front door. Here's what our side screen door looks like:

It's not bad, exactly. I just want it to pop more. The new screen doors will be bright white, and the front door will be yellow instead of green. Small changes that should help it come together into a cohesive whole.

The overall effect should be very similar, but the paint colors are different tones. I significantly lightened up the green in order to reflect more light and reduce heat absorption.
